I am going to have to agree with everyone else and say that Dec-Feb is the prime time for snowfall in NYC and New York State. The city is absolutely beautiful under a thick blanket of snow, but being it's the city that never sleeps...we have to get rid of it right away...so the next morning there is a 4ft. wall of dirty snow on the sidewalk and these mystery puddles at the end of a sidewalk. People in NYC will know exactly what I am talking about...they are part slush, freezing cold water, and dirt...that if you don't look carefully can look a lot like pavement...and can be quite deep at times...it's happened to us all!! Upstate, gets a good pounding every winter...especially around Lake Erie where they get the lake effect snow, but there isn't too much to do in upstate NY...we do border Canada, they do get more snow than NYS and Montreal is a super romantic city and it's perpetually under snow during those months...it's kind of like going to Europe, but not really.

Late January or early February, but it's hit or miss. Sometimes we get pounded with snow, then 2 weeks later it's gone! The other problem; it's REALLY magical in New York City when it's snowing and right afterwards. But after three days the snow gets all brown and gray.
Except for Central Park. That's always nice.

Well you never can tell in NYC but you might wanna bring her in December because with or without snow it's always beautiful and almost magical around Christmas time, plus if there is no snow, you can pop the question during a carriage ride in Central Park.

You'd really have to go far upstate for much snow. Funny, but even in Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse etc. there is much less snow that there was 30 years ago (Global warming??) Anyway, NYC is very "ify" with snow. It rarely gets much snow.

December, Jan. or Feb. You'll never know. Maybe sometimes in April. Just yesterday, it was snowing very lightly
