Greyhound buses leave Port Authority on Eighth Avenue at least every hour. The bus goes non-stop to Atlantic City and takes a little less than three hours. If you are over 21, you get a casino voucher which will refund about 75% of the fare. If you go by Greyhound, you can take any bus back to New York - the ticket is good for 48 hours.

Buses leave from every neighborhood in New York. Look in the windows of travel agencies, cigar stands, grocers, etc. Same deal with the casino voucher, but you have only about six hours to spend in Atlantic City. If you miss your bus, you have to purchase another ticket. The bus takes you back to the same neighborhood where you were picked up. These buses take a longer time because they make more stops.

Christina Aguilera puts on such a good show - you're going to have a great time.

By train

NJTransit[5] offers train service from Philadelphia's 30th Street Station to Atlantic City, with several stops in New Jersey. One-way fare is $7.25, and the ride takes about an hour and a half.

By car

Atlantic City is well-connected to a number of major highways. From Philadelphia and the west, the Atlantic City Expressway (route 42) is the most direct path. However, the Expressway is a toll road, and costs about $3.25 to drive its entire length. From North Jersey and New York, the Garden State Parkway (toll) and Route 9 to the Expressway and other roads leading into the city.

By bus

Many charter bus operators will offer Atlantic City trips originating from other parts of New Jersey, Western Pennsylvania, and Southern New York. Many trips will come with casino chips and/or food vouchers for patrons. This particular route is popular with senior citizens.
