This whole bedbug thing has been exaggerated way out of proportion.

Come and have a good time and don't worry so much.

You have to assume that every hotel has had bed bugs at one point or another. The best approach is to stay in a good hotel, and be sure to inspect your room. I've attached a resource with some simple travel tips.

Even a hotel that never had bed bugs can get them if a traveler brings them into the room.

Hotel Lucerne is right around the corner from Times Square, it's a fantastic place to stay. Also the Mayflower is pretty nice, and it's in that general vicinity as well.

I try to do as much research on hotels before every holiday I go on, on sites like trip advisor, and I read a few on there about hotels in NYC. we stayed in 70 Park Avenue, which is regarded as a deluxe hotel, and it was. very clean, ask for a room over looking the empire state building. walk easily to 42nd street, and Grand central terminal, and straight up 42nd street to Times square. it's away from the really cheap and nasty, tired and dated hotels. in Uk, hotels are very easy to identify as good quality or not, but in NYC it was very difficult to determine, as lots of them in my opinion looked filthy as if they could easily have bed bugs.

if your travelling with small children I would definately check out all reviews before booking anywhere, but look up 70 park avenue, it's gorgeous.

I hope you are not implying that the bed bugs you picked up while you rented our room by the quarter hour were unsatisfactory. They bit, you itch; stop your bellyaching. It's really not our fault you only needed 45 seconds to conclude your business transaction.

The Waldorf has them imported from Germany daily to ensure their freshness for the guests.
