Of course, you should defenitly go to college though, because otherwise you will never have the life you could have.



Look in the local classifieds for jobs requiring a GED or Diploma. You could work in Retail, or landscaping. Look for something you are interested in and go from there.

You definitely can, the MTA hires people with just high school diplomas, so does the NYPD and (I think) Firefighters. In most cases though you are going to need to get a college degree or have significant work experience for a better job elsewhere. Also note to obtain better positions in the NYPD and NYFD you are going to need a degree or significant college credit to advance. I would recommend finding a CUNY school or a community college to acquire your degree quickly.

A High School Diploma is a great start--but you're going to need more education (bachelor's a minimum) to have a good career. Especially in New York City--a city that takes the "best of the best" from around the country & world--you need more to compete. Good luck to you--and don't hesitate to go to college!
