Almost all of the all-you-can eat buffets in New York are Indian or Chinese. There are restaurants that serve a buffet for Sunday brunch, but not at other times. Two buffets that I like are East Buffet in Flushing, Queens (I was just there last week - all you can eat lobster with ginger and scallions - the buffet was $28 and they couldn't have made any profit from me. They have excellent soups (try the seafood shark's fin soup), there's a sushi bar (it's fresh, but it's not particularly good sushi) there's a cold salad bar, about a dozen shrimp dishes, a carving station, desserts, and a new addition is a chocolate fountain where you can dip fresh fruits and cakes in chocolate.

Todai is a huge Japanese buffet on East 32nd Street off Fifth Avenue. They will make up sushi to your specifications (they have great sushi), there's a huge counter with both cold and hot foods - lots of seafood. There's a man who will cook food to your order - you can have shrimp, chicken, pork, beef with vegetables - any combinations you like. There is a dessert table, a table with fresh fruit and interesting ice cream flavors like green tea and red bean. Look at their menu

I can't think of any really. However, if you're wondering due to money constraints, the one thing I can tell you is to stay away from restaurants that cater to tourists. Stay away from Times Square restaurants. They will be more expensive due to location. Skip the Hard Rock and the like. Think of what kinds of foods you want to eat and do an internet search. Menupages.com is an excellent suggestion. Also try yelp.com. They have reviews so you can find something you like and find out how it is and prices. Just remember, these pages are only a small example of what's out there.

I have often found that little hole in the wall places that are cheap can be just as good, if not better, than the places that make it into the books.

My personal faves for pizza are Big Nick's (which also has TONS of other food. I cannot even begin to stress how large the menu is) and Two Boots. The restaurants on E 6th St. (aka Indian Row) have really good deals for dinner - something like $10 for appetizer, entree, dessert, drink. Some are better than others, and it's a bit of an experience to do Indian Row. Chinese is always good for a cheap meal. Lunch specials can be $6. Little cafes and coffee shops and delis are worth checking out. There's a place called Dojo on W4th St. that is super cheap and good.

For a search try one for "NYC restaurants reviews" or "NYC restaurants menus." Also try "cheap eats nyc." That should help narrow it down a little.

newyork.citysearch.com might help.

New York isn't exactly known as an "all you can eat" town, but there is one notable (and excellent!) exception: Lunch buffets at Indian restaurants. My personal favorites are concentrated on the East Side: First, there's the cluster of charming little Indian places on East 6th St. between First and Second Avenues. My personal favorite there is Gandhi, but I've eaten at most of them, and every last one I've tried is good. Most are under $10 for lunch.

If you have a bit more money to spend, head north to 58th St. between Third Ave. and Lexington. There's a good dozen are so there, and the lunch crowd tends to be businessmen and Upper East Side society types. The atmosphere is more refined, and the prices are accordingly higher (most ring in at $14 or so). My top pick is Dawat, but Chola isn't far behind.

Unlike virtually every other kind of NYC restaurant, Indian places typically don't have their own websites (the picks I've listed here do not). You can, however, find them on traditional sites like menupages.com.

Happy Eating!

Churriscarra Plataforma is a great restaurant. It is Brazilian and they bring you cuts of great meat all night long. The meal also includes a salad bar that has everything (sushi, salad etc.) make reservations. It is about $50.00 per person, not including drinks, but it is worth every penny (as long as your not a vegetarian.
