Me andmy daughter were driving from Pennsylvania to NYC. We started driving along, and we hit a road hazard and it struck hard under the car. and we noticed that the car dinged and a little light with a picture of a yellow sun with an exclamation point came on. The car then started making strange grinding noises as it drove and it eventually became such that it had to be floored to keep going 30 mph. We had already gotten off the interstate so it didn't matter. A little while later a light with waves and a red thermometer came on. THe car then eventually lost all power and started spouting off steam. We then let it cool and kept moving on, then after a few more overheats the yellow engine light came on, and the car was experiencing some electrical hickups, and the red battery light and the light with an upside down bulb and exclamation came on. We kept driving on, and the indicator with a little red magic lamp came on and then the engine started making all sorts of squeeking and rubbing sounds, and then there was a loud BANG and the car just gave out and spouted out smoke. We had to call a tow truck, as I don't know how to do underhood repairs, as the mechanics do that, and my daughter even knows its a bad idea to ever open the hood. The car is now stranded, with no blinkers and no horn, andmy daughter is twirling a baton from marching band when she was in high school on the street corner so that we don't get creamed by someone whipping around the corner. NYC traffic is mess

Your first warning was a low tire pressure. Once you had hit the hazard, you should have pulled over with your working hazard lights. Someone would have tagged you on WAZE and a cop or tow truck driver would have seen you. You did not and the hazard may have flew up into engine compartment and had no time to fall out with your speed bounced around and caused a oil and/or coolant leak which explains the steam and ceased engine.

I would expect $5000 or more in repair bills if the engine and radiator has to be replaced. Hopefully the car is paid off so you can sell it as is.

Interesting.

You're posting this as if the incident JUST happened and you're in your car RIGHT NOW, waiting by the side of the road for a tow truck.

But you posted the same exact question last night.

And you posted it 3 days ago as well.

And you posted the same exact question twice before, but that time you said you were driving to Tampa.

Clearly this is fiction. (It doesn't even sound like the way NYC roads are laid out. You've never even been here, have you?)

Why you enjoy making up stories like this is a mystery to me. Perhaps your therapist can help you work that one out?

For NYC towing that'ts actually pretty cheap. Yes traffic is a mess here. People are putting money in the bag because of sympathy, therefore you should graciously accept it. 1 hour waiting for the tow truck in NYC is nothing, it could have been up to 4 hours.

its really unsafe for your daughter to be twirlling a baton around in the street to warn other cars, she put her life at risk here to protect your car. you should have pulled over further when you already knew your car was going out of service early on to protect your car, your safety and the safety of other drivers!

have the car towed back into the city, get your car fixed and drive home. there is no quick fix.

the quickest fix is to have your car scrapped and take the bus home -_-;

Didn't like the other answers you got to this very same question?
