Question:
Atlantic City Expressway - Missed Toll.?

Yesterday, I was driving to a friend's house and exiting the AC expressway for the first time I didn't know what I was doing and drove straight through the 40 cent toll.

I was talking to other people saying they also didn't and haven't several times.

Seeing as no flash went off when I passed through without paying, will they not follow up on this? I can only assume people blow off an unmanned toll everyday.

This happened to a friend of mine last year and she received a ticket in the mail for $38. The above poster is correct, call that number within 48 hours and explain the situation.

I know exactly what you're talking about the last toll both on the AC Expressway heading towards Atlantic City. If I were you I wouldn't do anything unless you get a notice in the mail. If you do get a notice pay the toll and let that be that. Sometimes the cameras don't pick up the license plate numbers and so if this is the case you got a toll free ride this time and don't have to give that scumbag governor Corzine your money. But on a lighter note don't feel bad...you accidently drove through the express EZ Pass lane, happens all the time

If your vehicle is registered on someone's EZ Pass account, it will probably just be charged to that account.

Otherwise call 609-965-6060. Don't wait as you only have 48 hours to take care of it.

If it was daylight, you wouldn't even see the flash. They will follow up as the state is pretty much broke and needs the money. People do blow off tolls every day. Those people also get violation notices in the mail which cost a lot more than the missed toll.

Go to sjta.com. SJTA owns and operates the AC expressway. Here is a link to their missed toll information: http://www.sjta.com/sjta/missed_toll.asp

They are also cracking down on toll cheats, so you could have your registration suspended if caught!

It's as simple as stopping in in-person at their Administration office at milepost 21.5 on the Expressway, or mailing in a check to the SJTA for the $0.40. Do it within 48 hours of missing the toll.

You might get a ticket in the mail. Then again, you may get lucky and not get one. You'll know in a week or two.
